I have no idea! I think Giants are absolutely beautiful, though. I fully intend to have one someday. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of info about them, does there? I'm mean I've never come across a Giant forum of a lot of Giant owners on pet forums. I would love to see pick of your puppy and look forward to hearing about him as he grows up. Good luck!
I am sure this is something your breeder should be help you with. I would not be feeding puppy food, it can cause them to grow to quickly. Usually feeding puppy food will cause bones to grow much more rapidly than tendons. And this can cause structual damage.
He's your friend, your partner, your defender your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours faithful and true to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to worthy of such devotion
Really that's kind of what the seller said. (seller was a kennel in Ohio) dealing mostly in goldendoodles. Think now it was kind of her friends dog that she breed. didn't seem to know alot about Giants. Mother was very polite, big, good looking dog. I took a blanket and she left me rub her everywhere. now I think instead of rubbing mom I should have rubbing it on the other puppies would have been better. (I use to breed mini. Schnauzer and I would sent a very dirty soft toy home with them that the family has been playing with for weeks. and I always heard they didn't fuss at night.) He fussed in the crate for 3 nights straight any ways back to the food
I asked 3 vet in the area and they all said I should be feeding a Large breed puppy food. no adult food not enough calcium. So I'm feeding purina one large breed. He eats about six to seven cups a day He is not overweight, I can still feel his ribs and his hip bone. just extremly big for what I ever thought a 13 week old could be. But I want him huge. I don't want my mini size. no lameness yet. He look great.
You feed him 6 or 7 cups of food A DAY?!!! That seems like an awful lot, especially for a 29lb puppy. My 40lb adult dog only eats about 1 cup of food per day. I'd recommend you feed a better quality food, and less of it.
And why would you want him "huge"? What's wrong with wanting him to fall within breed standard? It would certainly be healthier for him.
That's what he eats! okay most days he probably eats 5 cups. But he has all ready housed 7 cups a couple of day. I read They will eat alot more when grow. Then they will when they are maintaining or stay the same size. Want kind of food is best? Why I want him huge??? Look at the breed standard, 80-100lb and up to 28 inches tall. I like to see 28 inches and the 100lb of muscle
