I have 2 male Cockers, brothers 1 year old. They don't sleep in the house but only in the garage and they have a doggy door so that they can do their thing when they want. We see them early in the morning, and throughout the day many times, feed them during dinner time and pretty much I have them trained well like sit, wait, stand, jump, lie down, go get the birdie. So they are great. Does anyone else have their Cockers sleeping in the garage?
I personally couldn't have my dogs sleeping in the grarage. They have to be in the house with me. That is the whole reason I purchased them. My aussies are really to into their people for that anyway. They have to be with people, they usually don't do well on there own.
My dog's are all in the house. I could not sleep if one of them were outside, I would worry so much. All of them are in bed with me--2 Pugs, A Brussels Griffon and a wee Chihuahua. My big girl Mastiff has the option and usually starts out in bed with me and ends up on the floor or curled in a chair in my bedroom. I like them there and feel protected, safe and warm! And yes, I am married, but my hubbie is quite large and snores something fierce, so when the kids grew up, uh, well--he doesn't sleep in the garage, but just a little up the hall!
My house may be worth thousands of dollars less because I have too many dogs and they share the home with us, but I would not have it any other way.
