My dog does the Bichon blitz after every bath. I'm not sure but maybe they are trying to dry themselves? She loves water - not necessarily having a bath - but I usually wash her paws in the tub after a walk and she likes to stay in the tub and play in the water. But when she gets out, she blitzes around the house in the same route, barking. Then she collapses. She will also rub her body against my sofa and pull the covers off my bed.
In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semi human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog. ~Edward Hoagland
I like the Bichon Blitz --cute and descriptive. We call what the Pugs do--the butt run, because their tails are tucked and it seems their back legs are going faster than their front legs!! It is hilarious!!
Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read!! Groucho Marx
Yep, your right. They are trying to dry themselves. The same reason a wet sweaty horse will roll in the dirt.
It was funny, this morning I was getting ready to go out for Thanksgiving dinner, and my boy went and got into the bathtub. He just sat there looking at me. I asked him if he was trying to tell me he needed a bath. He is so good in the bath, that if I forget to get something, I can tell him to stay, and he will just stand in the bath water and wait for me to get back. LOL
