EVERY dog is different. There is no textbook answer to that question. The better thing to learn/research are what danger signs look like. Some bitches get into trouble 30 minutes into labor. Some aren't having problems until after they have had a puppy or two...
There is a thread stickied above that is useful. Otherwise... really, before you decided to breed your girl you should have known what basic danger signs looked like. Talk to your vet. Make sure you have the emergency number on the fridge. C-sections are usually necessary at 3 AM on Sunday morning (never in the middle of a Wednesday afternoon... :).
And a lot of your question should be breed specific. I can tell you in detail what the danger signs usually are on a Sheltie bitch... not as easily on other breeds. Some breeds are at a higher risk of a c-section. It can depend on what the sire is as well.
How far into the pregnancy is she? What breed/size is she? What breed/size is dad? Has she had a xray or ultrasound during her pregnancy? Has she seen a vet during the pregnancy? How is she acting right now? How long has she been acting this way?
as many details as possible and I can try to help you through this.
shes is a full size chi- and im glad to say that here babies are here all is doing well she had 3 2 boys and a gurl had a brown one with a blk mask over it face-(boy).she had a solid white one(boy)she had a charcoal colored one also(gurl). last one was born at 1 am this morning........im so proud lol
Glad everything went well. Will she be getting spayed when the pups are weaned? Sounds like a good idea if that is what happens. Sound as though you are referring to a 'sable' when you talk of the brown/black face.
Full size chi....do you mean she is of standard weight or over? Was dad a chi too?
