Hi I recently had them all on forbid powder because my 7 yr old was eating poop in our fenced in yard. It did not work. Does anyone have a more natural alternative to forbid? I already tried pineapple & none of them like it. Any other suggestions are welcome.
Sometimes they do this out of a bad habit, sometimes it is due to something lacking in the diet. Or could be a need to add good bacteria to the digestive system. It is easier to fix the problem if you can figure out the cause. What are you feeding? Have to tried probiotics or yogurt?

Half the battle is picking up the poo before the dog has a chance to eat it. You could try letting only one dog out at a time and keeping it on a leash so you can pick it up immediately before the dog can get to it.
You can try putting something directly on to deter them. Hot sauce (tobasco) or bitter apple/orange are two things I can think of.
We had this problem a long time ago and tried hot sauce, forbid and other things, nothing worked. Ultimately we just had to have the garden hose ready to get rid of the stool immediately. Eventually our dogs dropped the habit.
Ok, well, it seems to be her own poop. As far as diet, she has been on Wellness dry kibble Chicken super 5 mix. I do go out right away now to pick it up, but at night, you can't see a thing out here, so I cannot go locating it then. Are you saying to put hot sauce on the poop after she goes? So then I should not pick up right away, rather let her see how badly it can taste?
Thanks Illini. I do feed them 2x a day & I have also been picking up after them since this posting. Only at night I cannot, because I can't see in the dark. I'm working on it. Didn't try the hot sauce yet. Figured I'd do the picking up first & see how it goes.
