Is breeding safe? i really want my rabbit to breed but iam not sure about it since i dont want "unwanted" rabbits or they have to go to a humane society and not get adopted and have to be euthinized. please help so that i make a right choice
Rabbits breed at an incredibly fast rate. If you just want one litter of babies, then you will have to take your male out and keep him seperated for good. As far as safety goes, yes it's as safe as any other animal, but you should have the right living quarters, and of course the babies must be kept warm, and your Mom must have adequate water and food. Why do you want baby rabbits? Do you have homes lined up for them, or are you prepared to keep them, if you can't sell them? You must then be prepared to keep them seperated, or you will quickly end up with a very large population of rabbits. I would think very carefully about it, before going ahead with breeding your rabbit.
You are responsible for every life you create/allow to create. If you would truly breed then take the ones that are not bought to the Humane Society and make them their problem, or euthanize them because you cant find homes for all the lives you created. Then you have no busines breeding any animal.
