I rescued a english mastiff from the spca he is blind. We brough him home on xmas eve as i am on vacation for 14 days now. I thought this would be good for my whole family lol. He is awesome he has the house figured out and goes to the door to go out. He has learned the way of the pourch to the fenced in part of our yard. He loves belly rubs and his butt itched he does a little dance.Just picture a 200 lb dog dancing lol The only trouble ive run into is fear aggression with my other blind boy. I totally get it they can't see each other so they don't have a clue was it coming at them . I have a 8 month old mastiff and they have worked things out for the most part . Sherman knows when to back off. I told them at the shelter that i would give this my best try. The two blind ones can't be in the same room together period, it get to intense to fast. I am keeping them a part i will not take any chances here. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to deal with this. I am very realistic i will bring the big guy back to the shelter if i have too. I was very up front about that from the start.
I really hope things work out for you and your family. Thank you for adopting. I had a blind male Eskimo Spitz who got along well with other cats and dogs. Hoping this is the case with your new mastiff.
