I have a shi tzu, sophie Anne, and I dress her in holiday clothing and after she is first groomed in pajamas because her hair is cut short and she literally shakes she is so called. Some people think it's sillybut she really doesn't mind at all. I should probably add that I buy baby clothes and just cut a hole for her tale. They seem to have more selection than pet clothing. So, do you think its O.K. to dress your dog? pamperedprincess
If it serves a purpose and doesn't restrict her movement, it's fine. My Maltese has sweaters and a hoodie for when it's cold outside. He also wears t-shirts in the house b/c my house is old and drafty. I used to think anything more than one or two sweaters was pretty silly, but I've obviously changed my tune. I'm hoping my next dog will be a female, and I'm sure she will have more clothes than Bailey. They make cuter clother for the girls, which sucks. I do draw the line at the wedding dresses and oscar gowns. I also don't think it's right to force a dog that genuinely hates it, to wear clothes b/c you think it's cute. Some just will never tolerate it and you have to respect that.
Hahahaha, I totally dress up my dog, she's got allergies and hypothyroidism so she's got alot of hairloss (thank God it has gotten better though) so she needs clothes when it's chilly out her $40 coat may be a little bit much but, I am totally for it as long as they can move comfortably, and hey for my baby, doggie boots are what she's gettin next!
Thank so much for the support. Some people give me & my husband a hard tome, butShe loves her clothes, she is not restricted, and I never make her wear anything. All of her clothes in a beach bag I keep down and open, and when your pet goes to her bag & brings U a pajamas or an outfit I think she might be O.K. with it. As for the ugley comments from others, Take it with a grain of salt. Like they say there is a witch in every croud. (If U know what I mean) Do U like to chat on IM if so hollar at me.
She is such a premadonna pamperedprincess

i bought sweaters for the puppy we're getting. I think its adorable though i'd never dress her in anything that upset her. The simple sweaters is all i bought now because its cold and we have all tile and wood floors so being lower to the ground i figured she needed an extra layer.
I agree, what ever floats your boat!! And your little doggie seems to like it! I have a little Chihuahua, Freddie, and his hair is soooo short. He does not like Missouri winters and shivers too. I bought him an extra small sweater, but when I put it on him he just stands there and won't move, and then my other dogs think he is a toy or something and drag him around and pull him by the sweater. I gave up! I let him snuggle under the cover with me!!
I also have Pugs and in STL, as I am sure they have in most big cities, there is an annual Pug Party with a costume contest. The Puggies seem to enjoy it as much as the people!! One year Butter Bean was E.T.!! I had a milk crate attached to a bike and she sat in that, with a sheet over her. My young son was Elliot and walked the bike through. We even had the movie's sound track going!! We won 2nd place!! Oh--some of the costumes are so clever and cute! One of my favorites was the Pug Roast. They had an aluminum roasting pan over the dog and she was surrounded by potatoes and carrots and onions!!!
Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read!! Groucho Marx
I once had a woman at Petsmart ask me how I got Bailey to wear clothes. I honestly didn't know what to tell her. I just hold the neck/arm holes open and he does the rest, LOL. If he sees me get out the clothes he gets excited.
