My dog is 60 days pregnant today and her temp is going up and down any advice?
My dogs might be in labor help please?

Good morning, my vet always tells me not to get to caught up on temp numbers.
I tend to pay much closer attention to the behavior of the Mom-to-be. Stops eating, scratching around, pay attention to panting.
Yuck, I hate labor on a Sunday beacuse my girls require c-sections.

What is her due date? I do not usually pay attention to temp, but some people swear by it. Is she nesting at all, scratching or digging. Is she trying to find a place to hide? Do you have a whelping area for her?? Is she panting? Do you see contractions? You can actually see the contractions the stomach area will get real hard then relax again it will repeat.

I am sorry you do say 60 days, I missed that. Is that 60 days from first or last tie? MOST dogs do NOT whelp early, although I did have it happen once at 60 days everything went fine. Her body is probably just PREPPING for birth just watch her close unless she is having contractions without producing a pup no need to panic, stay calm and relax she can feel your stress. What breed is she?

My female just whelped this past Tuesday at exactly 60 days from the first tie. I did not take temps, but I usually don't. She did not nest, and showed no signs of labor. The only thing that had my attention, is that in the morning it looked like her rounded belly dropped. I got home from work at 10:30 pm and was talking on the phone to a friend with my girl in a 400 crate in my bedroom. I smelled something(after birth apparently) and she then burped. I looked and puppy number one had arrived. So sometimes they do surprise us. She had a total of 9 pups, 2 of which were still born. But the other 7 are gaining weight and doing well. She is an excellent mother. This is her first litter.

I tried to respond to your PM, but says your not accepting messages.

all dogs carry there pups differently. I had one dog that I bred and I would have swore she was not bred, until the pups actually came out. Everything sounds normal for now. I would just keep her close and comfortable. I have had them lay in my lap to whelp. But later got them to move to the whelping box after I put the first pup in there. Keep us posted.

Thanks well now today I am noticing white discharge coming from her vagina she's not eating drinking and sleeping alot. Cause I have read so much but i'm just confused but her ribs are wide this is her first litter.
