I just wanted to share my joy and frustration. My brother's dog just had 12 puppies. She is a full blood lab and the father is a "labradoodle". I told my brother that he should have her fixed after her last litter, but he didn't listen. Now there are 12 more puppies in the world, that need homes. Granted where he lives, they will find homes in no time, but still. He doesn't really take care of the dogs he has now. Which isn't to say they are abused, its just they are farm dogs and could be better taken care of. Oh well, just venting. Hope all is well for everyone.
PS-just added a new addition to my family. A little male schnauzer.
Unfortunately this situation happens a lot. Maybe printing up a spay/neuter contract for potential owners would at least help keep the offspring from multiplying as well. Hopefully by the dog having so many pups and having to care for the extra load will make the owners reconsider there prior decision not to spay/neuter.

I know, its crazy about the puppies. The last litter she had there were only 7 puppies. I can't believe she had 12 this time. Several died last time too. Granted she had them outside in the middle of winter and they couldn't get to the puppies in time to bring them inside. I was afraid it was going to happen this time too. I'm glad it didn't and the mom and pups are inside where it is nice and warm. My brother doesn't have alot of sense when it comes to animals. The schnauzer puppy is adorable, 12 week old black and silver. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.
Did you hear about the Dalmatian in England that had 18 puppies. WOW! The owner's take around the clock shifts to supplement them. They were on the Today Show and looked to be about three weeks old, all fat and sassy and doing well.
Anyone know the world record for pups in a litter? What breed?
