So basically, I have 2 parakeets and they love to be on my carpet so they are kept in my bedroom with the door closed at all times because we have dogs. Long story short, my dog had my bird in his mouth and ending up hurting his wing. He is now terrified of me and I don't know how to get him to trust me and let me hold him again. Thinking another bird would help I got him a friend but it seems to have made the problem worse! Any advice on getting these parakeets to like me?
I think that you should have not got another bird as they do talk to each other. I think it would of talking a few months for your parakeet to start trusting you again but it might be harder now that you have two as they have each other. Lets us now how you go..
well, i read from a few diff. pages that birds can sometimes never like you again, i also read that if a problem some what like that accurs for more than few months then to try to find a new home for the birds...
but i also have a problem with my bird, (Binger)i got him yesterday and when he first got here he bit me pretty bad when i tried to put it in his cage but when my friend brought her bird over..(dale) whom she had got 3 days ago, it was really nice, they booth became really friendly, but when she had to go home and the birds were seperated again my bird flipped out, it is really araid of objects besides my fingure and when it heres music it calms down... but i can't play music all day everyday to calm it down, soo does anyone have an idea on how i can get it to be calm whjen music is not playing?
yep,get your friends bird back in that cage lol no seriously birds need the company of other birds,as if in the wild they search and mate call until they find their kind so I would get another one, though it will always try to bite you when it is being handled only type that really wont do that is a parrot..Good Luck(^:^)
You can start by just putting your hand in the cage a few times a day and just leaving it in there for a few minutes. Don't try and touch them, just let it rest inside the cage. Eventually they will get used to it and not fly around as much. From there you can progress to trying to gently rub they're stomaches, because that calms them down. and when they are chill with that, you can see if they will hop up on your finger. Easiest way to do that is it place your finger right above there feet and put pressure on their body so they hop onto your finger. http://perfect-radiance.org/

If he bites, don't react - just deal with it - it doesn't hurt that much. Your second choice: Get another budgie. This is almost necessary especially if you work or go to school where you'll be gone for more than 8 hrs /day. Be sure to place his cage somewhere he can interact with the rest of your family - somewhere he can see what's going on, where he can participate in life. Don't leave him alone with only a mirror for company. Budgies are highly intelligent and very interactive. Hope his helps. Just have patience, he'll come around and you'll have a wonderful little creature to be your friend. http://raspberryketonesite.net/
She is past her use by date for breeding without issues. She would have become eggbound but you may not have noticed if she was in the nestbox. Unless you have another female on eggs there is nothing you can do with the eggs you have. If she had begun to incubate ( consistently keep them warm ) then the chicks would be dead in shell by now...I am sorry. If you are keen to breed you cannot work with females over 4 years and must get younger breeding stock and seperate any females too old to another place where there are no nestboxes. http://www.zimbio.com/Weight+Loss/articles/WTJmYbfhXJU/Raspberry+Ketone+Review+Raspberry+Ketone+Pure
When I grab my male budgie and bring him real close to my female budgie he screams and seems very scared of her and she tries to bite his beak for some reason. But when I leave them alone they seem to get along and communicating and even kidding. Does anyone have an explanation or reason for this? http://revitaslimreview.com/raspberry-ketone-slim-reviews.html
