Hello everyone, I am new to this forum, was wondering if there is any Great Dane lovers out there? I have 3, Bear my male is black and white and is 2 1/2, then there is Roxie she is 3 1/2 and a brindle, and then there is my Peaches she is 3 months an a harlequin, they are my heart with my 2 sons , I love the breed they are so sweet and gentle and my 4 year olds best friend they sleep with him, they will stand in front of him if you raise your voice to him, if he in trouble ha ha Bear won't let anyone new around him ,and if there was a big Dane at 37 inches and at 165lbs standing there i sure not go near him ha ha..I love the way they come over and sit there butt on the couch beside you...my Bear will sit his butt in the kitchen chair to it soooo funny ..well just wanted to say hello
I adore them but don't own one. I understand they are very special dogs. Their owners are always gushing about them, LOL. I came close to getting one before I got Harley (Rottweiler). I had it narrowed down to those two breeds, but decided a Rottie was big enough for now. I'm glad I went with that decision. The big guys are awesome, but I can't imagine having a dog any bigger than Harley. Welcome to the forum, I look forward to hearing about your guys. I would love to see pics too!
One of my friends has two danes--Doyle and Darcy. They are awesome and I have seen Doyle do that butt thing--sitting his bottom on the chair. It cracked me up too. I also love to watch him run. Magnificent!! She will bring them out here to play and run--they are city Danes and I live in the country. They get along great with my doggies, from the Chihuahua to the Mastiff!
I too, welcome you to the forum and would enjoy seeing pictures!
Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read!! Groucho Marx
I would love to post pics of them but as I said I am new here, so how do I go about doing that? Hubby says I talk to much about them ha ha, I have been raising them for over 10 years now, and oh yes mine get along with other dogs and kids to from small to big, just got to watch the little ones because dane just don't realize how big they are and just want loved and cudded like the smaller dogs ...but when danes get to playing and chasing each other, you just best get the heck out of the way or you will get run over ha ha....thank you for your nice welcome, have been to other forums and some not so nice.. will post pics as soon as I find out how ha ha....
