I just got my first purebred AKC shepherd and I'm having a hard name determining his registration name! I think we're going with Major as his call name so I'd like that in there and I was a military police officer in the Army and I was K9. My last partner's name was Ringo and he died of cancer right before I got out so I'd like to include Ringo in there as well, maybe something to do with the Army/MPs. I don't have to worry about kennel name but I'm having a hard time putting it all together. I was thinking Ringo's Major _____ something or of that nature, but I'm getting stuck. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!
I like Ringo. It is cute. I think Major is way to common for a GSD. But with your military ties I can see why you want to include it. With Ringo--you can sing Bingo to him, only changing one letter. He'll like that!
Thank-you for your service to our country. I honor and respect that, as well as giving you my heart-felt gratitude.
One of my bestest friends is now fostering her second blood hound puppy. She keeps them from 8 weeks to six months and socializes them and trains them the very basics in obedience. Then they are turned over to an academy for formal training to be both military and police dogs. I am so proud of her. I believe it would be too hard to turn over a dog I have fallen in love with. She also fostered a lab puppy to be trained as a service dog for the disabled. She was to pay all the costs involved in the service pup--HW preventative, spay (they wanted all dogs S/N) all vaccines and food, etc. The care for the bloodhounds are all reimbursed to her, so she is only donating her time and love! She loves it!! She has been a vet tech for---golly----25 years-at least.
Good luck with your puppy. I think a beautiful GSD is the most beautiful dog on the planet! I have never owned one though, and you see some that, well lack the glory of some of the well bred ones. And I've met several that are to be frightened of. I am sure you picked a good one and will put the effort into him to make him a good citizen!
