I am stumped on what to call my two little pups. One is a red and white beagle and the other is a red, white and brown shih tzu / lhasa apso mix. They have to go to the vet tomorrow and i have no idea what to call them. I have had them for four days now and nothing sounds good. So far the names i have are Snoopy, Shilo, Copper, Bert, and Hoover for the beagle. Dopey, Roomba, Ernie, and Mutasuka for the shih tzu. The shih tzu is my husbands so its his choice, but any suggestions are good.

When you said red and white I thought Valenteen. is it a boy? some cute boy names that I like are bing, riley, benny, Colbie, puffy (if they have alot of hair), Also some other names that sound more girlish to me but could be used for boys are Fendi, Dolce, co-co (these are more trend names but I like them). I'll keep thinking and post if I can come up with more. I hope I helped, everyone likes different types of names, this is just my input. -Ashley
Don't be in a hurry! Just tell the vet receptionist that you haven't named the pup yet. For now, calling "Puppy" will get the reaction you desire. Meanwhile look for distinctive markings or behaviour. I have often wished that I hadn't been in a rush to name a pup. ie. I have a 3 pound Papillon who likes to sit on my shoulder rather than in my lap. I wished I had called her "Birdie". Instead she was named "Elle-E" (French for the letter L which stands for Little). When I was breeding dogs, I was given the job of naming the pups for registration. Before registration time, the pup's names changed many times. Everytime a certain female was bottle feed, she sang - Whitney was her name. One male was whelped in front of the Kenmore refridgerator. Guess what his name was? (Kenmore). Take your time. A name that comes easy to the head and lips will come to you. PICKING A NAME HINT: Pick a name that ends in the "E" sound. The higher pitch catches a dog's ear and they will respond faster especially if there is a treat to reward him for responding. Hope this helps. Oh yeah, getting two puppies at the same time - expect them to be total party animals and deaf. I would recommend doing their obedience training separately, in a quiet room. Also after about 3 weeks of training, (ten minutes a day per dog), you and your husband trade dogs. This way the dogs don't focus in on one handler. Hope I've helped you a bit. So far it looks like the shih-tzu is gonna be named Gizmo... because he resembles the little guy. But the best i can come up with for my lil beagle is Chopper, and Chewie. He has been chewing a lot lately. I can understand because there both pups, but when he chews through my 30 dollar headphones in less than i minute Chopper came to mind. Not to mention i was using them when he did XD. I try to take the do not chew items away and give him his chew bones and dog toys instead. I keep telling my husband to put the cords up high and out of reach of Chopper. He has gotten a phone charger, my headphones and my husbands laptop power cord. Only the phone charger and headphones were devistated, but the powercord was saved. Hopefully he doesnt get zapped from chewing on something. Our house is baby proofed, but some things are still out that might not be puppy proof. For the most part, our phone chargers and so on are kept in our bedroom, which the door to is kept shut.
ive had them for over a month now. Although the fluffy Shih Apso has got his name (Gizzmo), im not satisfied with the other name i came up with. I have been calling the beagle Chopper, but it doesnt seam to fit. Ill post some pics so everyone can get a better idea of what they look like. My Daughter apsolutly loves them.
I dont know if we will be able to keep them. Sadly my husband is hurt and cannot do hard labor type work. We live in a small town so finding a new job is a bit dificult. We live in an apartment and my have to move in two weeks for two reasons. No money to pay rent. Also we are not alloud to have more than one pet (although ive seen plenty of people living out here who have 2 or 3). Hopefully we can work something out. We are trying to find a place with a yard.
