Before you even think about buying food, do your breed research. What breed suits your lifestyle? What type of dog would make you happy and would be happy with you? Of the three places, to get a dog, I would definitely pick "Breeder". Your other options are a breed rescue or a humane society. Just like we try on shoes before we purchase them, what about co-owning a dog. Is having a dog really what you want or will it be a passing fad? Remember a dog is for life! I co-own a cat. There is also the responsibility of making sure your pet is a good canine citizen. Obedience trained properly, leashed when exercised and off your property, socialized, and cleaned up after. As far as food, puppies need really good quality food from the feed store. When it goes to adult food it is a gradual change to good quality food. I mix good quality with really good quality to make it go further. Ask the breeder at what age the puppy should change over. Obedience training can start at 3 months of age. Hope I helped you.
My opinion is that the OP may as well have joined up as "TROLL". Too bad he/she didn't give us the cell phone number from the phone they texted from, we could all call and give our opinion on dog food and puppy mills. And if I knew how to add the emoticons, I would stick my tongue out back to the OP.
