I have a 12 week old chocolate lab who breathes EXTREMELY heavy when sleeping. I crate trained her and thought she was experiencing anxiety in the crate, but now she sleeps with our 4 year old black Lab and still does it. I don't think it's reverse sneezing but I need help! She breathes so heavy and her heart rate is rapid. I've asked the vet every visit if this is normal, and she seems to think it's okay. I'm to the point of staying up all hours of the night just to make sure she makes it to the morning. HELP PLEASE!!
Took the puppy to the vet this morning. I DID record her sleeping and although the vet looked puzzled when hearing it, she again reaffirmed that as long as she remains active during the day and isn't showing any behavior change, she should be okay. The only conclusion she could come up with was that perhaps she had her nose broken when she was days old. She was taken from a family that was abusive to all the dogs on site, so that could be it. I just hope she's not in any pain. Thanks for the suggestions. I guess we'll just learn to accept it! Again Thanks!!
