This is kind of a tricky story so follow along as best as you can and then let me know your opinion. We've had kasey for 7 months now and no regrets at all but I'm just curious as to why the person we got her from lied about her breed. Here is the story... When I was little we took a st. bernard newfoundland mix dog out of a bad living condition and brought him into our home. Sinclaire was a great dog and so good with kids, we loved him. He passed a few years later when he got out of the yard and went to the neighbors garage and drank antifreeze. It was really sad and we were all devistated. So years have passed and my dad wanted another st. bernard newfoundland mix. So my dad, being from a small town country area and not having alot of experience with breeders ( we always went for the dogs that either needed a better home or were being given away)went online and started searching for this type of breed. He finally found a lady selling them for 450, i then began to tell him about puppy mills and the dangers of buying dogs from people you don't quite know. He persisted on driving 2 hours away to get this puppy so I went along . the woman waited until last minute and told us to meet her at the gas station near by, so we waited. She showed up and had two little dirty puppys.they looked sickly and scared and they were not st. bernard new foundland mixes. Kasey was about 7 pounds with a curly tail and sticky up ears. Her nose was spotted and she looked like a sheltie or collie of some sort. I told the lady that this was a rip off but I fell in love with Kasey the moment I held her. So we gave the lady her money and we left. The vet laughed at us when we told them she was a st. bernard new foundland and we decided that she was a sheltie mix of some sort. So my question is, why would this lady advertise online that she had st. bernard newfoundlands for sale when they weren't in fact that breed. She told my dad initially that her st. bernard got out and they were positive the new foundland down the road was the dad. I just don't understand this situation. Since then I tried contacting the woman but she is no where to be found (suprise suprise). I really love kasey and I think fate led us to eachother but I'm curious what others think of this?
agree totally.. Sounds like this lady had no idea of the father and was guessing and hoping people would not really notice till it was to late , then she would be gone with the money, but thank god the puppy found you ..this is not a breeder, it is bad accident..
Always trust your dogs instinct about ppl it is always right..
