How can you get money back from a breeder that demanded a deposit b/4 Christmas, and then when my daughther picked the dog up this past Tues., at two months old, by the time she got home with the puppy, symptoms were starting to show, and a vet has confirmed that this boxer puppy has Hydrocephalus. My daugther does not want to put her to sleep unless she is in pain, but every day that goes by, she bonds with the dog more & more, and is an emotional wreck. I'm sure the breeder knew, when my daughter picked up the puppy, as the symptoms became very obvious by the next day. I also imagine that the breeder did not follow your info that says that when a puppy is born with this condidtion the mother should be spayed or resticted from any further use in breeding programs.
My daughter cannot bear to put the sweet puppy down, but she needs the money for vet bills.
I am not exactly sure what that is, as I do not know much about boxers.
As far as getting something from the breeder, it depends alot on your health guarentee and contract. If you didn't sign one, then I hate to say it, but you didn't do your research, and got what you paid for. If the is no health guarentee, and no signed contract, the only other thing you can do is see if the puppy lemon law is in effect where you live. Some states have adopted it due to these kinds of problems. Otherwise it was buyer beware.
Sorry for your hardship. You may have learned the hard way never purchase a puppy with out a written (at least) 2 year health guarentee.
I hope you can find a way to pin this lady to the wall.
