I know dogs eat grass when they need to throw up - or sometimes depending on the season they just like to eat it.
But my dog started eating grass so much that every time we go out for walks that's all he wants to do. He's a husky mix, 3 years old I have him on a raw chicken - kibble and some wet food diet. Some days he only eats his chicken so I was wondering if perhaps I need to be giving him something else?
Well, I had a problem like this not too long ago. My vet said that I should check my Boston Terrier for worms. She was eating grass like crazy. So, I took him a "sample" from her and sure enough, she had tapeworms. (I do worm my dogs regularly but she got tapes somehow.) So, he prescribed her a 1 dose pill and she was fine the next day and has not eaten grass since. Some will likely disagree that eating grass may or may not be a sign of worms but it could have been in my particular case, I guess.
When I was researching about Piper's craving for the grass, I did a search and found this article. I thought it was somewhat interesting and so I decided to bookmark it. Here is the link. Best of luck!
