First of all 4 weeks is way too young to be away from mom. Is she on dry food? If not, Buy a bottle and substitue milk, you can get from petsmart. Feed he with that, and in like a few days or a week, start introducing her to dry moistend food, your choice of which. Where did you get her from that young?
Shelties: Not enough words to describe how much I love them.
I really hope this is a troll, becuase this is the dumbest thing I have heard.
a week old puppy should not be away from its mother, and if the mother has passed or abonded the pup it should be in the hands of someone who knows how to care for it.
replacement puppy milk is the best, if they will drink it from a bowl great, otherwise he has to be bottle feed several times a day. You can introduce moisten food of your choice when the pup has all of its teeth and can drink from a bowl.
Water is nessacary for the dogs life, and unless you live somewhere where the water from the tap is harmful or contaminated. it should be fine. You can always give bottled water (like we drink) if you are worried about your tap.
