We just got a new welsh corgi puppy. He is 10 weeks. He's up to date on his shots and wormings. Since he has woke up today, he won't eat and his stomach is all gurgly. He was sleeping at the end of the couch so I was going to move hom to his bed. When I picked him up there was a big clear wet oozie mess that had white snotty looking stuff here and there in it. Could someone please help me to identify this? Is it worms? I am in the process in getting him an appointment at the vet, but it is Sunday I might have to wait until tomorrow. Other than that, he's been running around all over playing. Seems fine otherwise.
an up date on our corgi puppy. we got him into the vet first thing monday morning and they are pretty sure it's coccidia. only because monday morning his poo was runny and had a spot of blood in it. so they sent me home with meds for that but wanted me to get a stool sample before i administered it and then they are going to test it for everything...coccidia, giardia, heartworms, everything. I took the sample in yesterday morning and just waiting for a call on the results. But he is doing fine now ever since i gave him the antibiotics and his stools are starting to already start forming back up and no more runny poo. so I can't wait to here back and know the coast is clear and also ready to take on what ever might pop up. so this coccidia? i don't quite understand it. they say it lives in dogs and is dormant, but it generates when is a stressful situation. i guess it is stressful, leaving your fur mom and litter mates and coming into a whole new environment. also I had to start slowly switching foods because I couldn't find what he was eating in my parts. so all that put together i see how it could happen. anyways, that's the deal with my cute pup jasper.
