Hello, I am new to this but have a problem with my boxer who is almost 4yrs. old. I am wondering if anyone out there has had this problem and what if anything can be done. I have had blood work done and it came back as pancreatitis, but he really doesn't have any of the other things that goes with it. I have had him to a all natural vet and she tested him said she found him weak in the pancreat, kidneys, and lack of blood flow to his head, she gave him some all natural herbs for his pancreast, so he on that and a med to help him not vomit from my vet. He only gets sick in the mornings, he gets up goes outside eats grass and gets sick, if I don't let him eat grass he curls up like his stomach reaaly hurts and lays around all morning, wont eat til later in the day. Once he is past all of this the rest of the day and evening is fine. I am at a lost. I have had him to just about everyone I canthink of to take him to, I just want answers, I don't want to lose him. He was vomiting up blood bright red then I started giving him anacid meds before he went to sleep at night and again in the morn. this helped for about a week now he is getting sick again in the morn. but no blood. Please help
Sorry that your guy is so sick. My boxer had pancreatitis as a secondary condition to his Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Our vet said we had to change his food to one with a very low fat content and high fiber. You shouldn't be giving him any human food or treats and keep him on a strict diet of recommended food. There are medications that will reduce the inflammation and relieve pain. If you Google pancreatitis in dogs you will get more information but it really is a very SERIOUS condition that needs immediate treatment.I think you need to see another vet ASAP if all you have are natural remedies that haven't helped. Keep us posted on his progress.
