I treated my 6 year old, 55 pound Japanese Akita with advantage three days ago and noticed a change in her behavior after 48 hours of the treatment. Though there has been no change in her eating and drinking habits, she is panting and has some trembling. We applied as directed between her shoulder blades so I'm sure she hasn't ingested any of the medication. Other than the symptoms above, she is pretty much her normal self. I'm assuming this is linked to the medication but of course I don't know that for a fact. Has anyone had the same experience with their pet? We last treated her with Frontline and don't recall any similiar behaviors.
It may be too late to wash off, but if that is the only differant thing done, must be it. Try washing any residue off. Thats what I have read to do,when you think its the topical. We have used advantage for over 8 years no problems.
Whoever said you can't buy happiness, must have never owned a dog!!!!!!!!!!!
I refuse to use any of it. My aussie lost most of her hair on frontline, my poodle had a reaction to advantix, I was done. yes, your dog could be having and allergic reaction. I would try to wash what you can off, and monitor him. contact the vet and let them know what you think is going on. they may have ideas to help.
Simply put, all of those are poison, that soaks into your dogs skin. Unless you live in an area that is so over run with flea's or ticks(like fl. sand fleas suck), I would only do natural stuff, and take my chances. JMHO
