Received a 12 week old puppy from my dh and sons for Mother's day. I noticed very quickly that the right front leg appeared to bow out when he sits and leans on that side. It also quivers. Saw the breeder the next day and she denies that they had noticed anything wrong with it, but did say to let them know after we take him in to see the vet. As I'm reading I don't get the feeling that elbow dysplasia appears at such an early age. He was the runt, but the breeder states he had almost caught up to the other puppies in size by the time they began leaving. He runs and bobbles just like any other pup we've had in the past. When comparing both legs in a flexed position they appear symmetrical. He doesn't wince or pull away with any flexion and gentle twisting of his paw. Could it be just weak muscles he will grow out of? Any thoughts on normal vs. abnormal development would be helpful.
