There was a Golden Retriever mother in Texas who had a litter of puppies with another male dog. (He was a stray.) The owner obviously did not want the puppies so he took the female and her puppies for a "drive". He reached a busy highway and dumped her and eight puppies on the highway. A rescue team found the female and her pups a few days later on the highway. The pups were scattered aroung on the road and on the other side of the highway. All of the pups, and the mother, were starving, thirsty, and had all caught a disease in which they lost patches of fur and gained red spots. The mother was brought to the shelter along with her seven pups. (One of them had already died, and was lying helplessly on the side of the road.) They are currently healing from the disease, and are going to be adopted. Any comments on this animal cruelty? -Stephanie R.
If the mom AND pups were found abandoned on a highway, how do we know the father was a stray dog? If the mom AND pups were dumped together, she obviously had already been pregnant when the original owners had her. Would almost have to know the orignal owners personally, or been the original owner to know for sure who the dad was.
Comments...well I hope they find the owner and prosecute him.
