Hi, we have been taking our corgi to puppy classes for six weeks now and last night all the sudden wouldn't walk in the store. Right when we got through the doors he just sat and wouldn't budge. He's never had anything bad happen to him there. So I picked him up and walked him back to the class and he was fine in there(excited to see the other dogs), but when we were to go out in the isle to practice what we were taught, he wouldn't walk again. He just stood still and tried slipping his collar. What the heck? What is going through his mind. Is he smelling or hearing something that he was freaked out by? Has anyone heard of such behavior? The trainer maybe thought it had to do with the floors. What? I don't know what to do if he does this on his next visit. Any suggestions?
Now my corgi pup is not only doing this at class, he's doing it when we just want to go on a walk. He just sits or even lies his head down(pretty much like the log-in pic). What do I do to get him out of this behavior? The trainer says bribe him with treats and then when he gets going treat him again. But it's got to the point he could care less about the treats. He used to be the best loose leash walker and then all of a sudden now he's a booger on a string!! Any suggestions?
