I already had the ligament tightened up 7 yrs ago but the patella
started to slip off again 8 months ago it looks like I need the surgery to fix it .has anyone had this done thanks for any info

I had Medial Patellofemoral Ligament Reconstruction surgery May 11 2010. It's the hardest thing I've ever had to go through. this is the 3rd surgery on that one knee. Both my knees have dislocated since I was 10. I"m now 47 and the left knee started to dislocate in my sleep. so I had this surgery. it's a 6-9 month recovery. Since I've done this for so long the great fear I have is almost hit the roof. the new ligament is right in the spot on my knee where i feel the most pain when it's slips out so to have that pulling sensation on that spot really is scary. you gotta just about learn to walk again. and the stretching of that new ligament is hard. I don't know if I knew then what I know now if I'd done this to myself. but only you can really be the judge. it's how bad is the dislocation and how able you are to heal afterward. Best Wishes
