My female kitten is 9 weeks old. She has been to the vet, dewormed, vaccinations and so forth. She is very very active loves to pounce our feet. She eats, drinks and uses the litter box well. I love my kitten,lol...she has a crazy personality...
We put her in a kennel at night because she is so active she keeps us up. We have her trained that at night we put her kennel on the floor and say go to your kennel and she will walk right in.
Anyways, this morning my husband went to let her out and she pooped in the kennel. he noticed when he wiped it out it was tinged pink on the top of the pile, not inside the whole thing.
I have been watching her all morning and she is her usual active self. She has been eating and using the litter box faithfully. I haven't noticed any repeats.
You can not expect a cat to stay confined overnight without access to a litterbox. She is not a dog yet you are trying to train her like one. There is absolutley nothing wrong with her and I don't blame her for pooping in the crate.

I agree! A cat should not be crate trained, it is not a dog. I have never heard of that one, poor thing. Let it loose in your bedroom, and give it a few catnip toys, and put down a litter box, that is natural for a cat, not a crate. I have four, got them all when they were kittens and they have always used their litter boxes even when it was in another room. But for now since you still have a baby, keep the box in your room, just make sure it is shallow enough for it to go in.
