Do you have the male or the female? Has the dog had any of it's breed suggested genetic testing? Have you shown it at all? How old is he/she now?
Only the healthiest and best representations of the breed should be used for breeding. The breed itself is struggling to recover from over breeding which in turn caused poor health and poor personalities. Health testing will give you one up on being sure you are producing sound puppies.
Cockers can have a myriad of eye problems,. They should be CERFed and have knees checked at a bare minimum.
Unless you are doign conformation and sports or field work to prove your dog. Please alter it. Breeding should eb done to improve breeds. You need to ask yourself what it is that your dog can add to the breed. I have 2 american cockers that I do agility, rally, obedience, and soon to compete in straight racing, go to ground and tracking through NAMBR. My male does conformation as well. Even with a growing list of titles I don't think he can add enough to the breed.
