Last Sunday a week ago we went and picked up little Dudley. We now have 2 mini schnauzers (Tina & Lexi) and 2 yorkies Dudley & Kayla. Well, Dudley is a little bitty guy. He is 3mo. old and weighs 1 lb.9oz. Kayla bit him last night and he cried and cried. We keep him in a kennel because he is so little. I take him out often and take him to the back of the house and close the door and let him run and play. She seemed to be doing okay for awhile but all of a sudden she just jumped on him when my husband was getting him out of his crate to go tee tee. I don't know what to do with her and I sure don't trust her around him. I hate for him to have to be kenneled but right now its the safest place for him. The breeder told me when we bought him she had never seen in yorkies, a male and female that didn't get along. Welllllll, we have the exception. Kayla the little Holy Terror. Any suggestions????
Hmmm, maybe she just needs more time. I know a lot people with dogs that don't get along "crate and rotate." You could put Kayla in the crate sometimes, so Dudley can be out and interact w/ the Schnauzers. I think if the other girls accept him, Kayla might be more willing to do so. I also think crating her might put her in her place a bit.
