I have a 5 month old female Yorkie-Poo. I got her about 3 months ago. When I first got her, i noticed she always used the bathroom on my newspaper before I could even read it rather than her pad. I assumed the previous owners trained her on newspaper. A few days later, she began to rip the newspaper and the pad up. She also began to eliminate in her bed EVERY night. I chalked it up as she's a puppy and she can't hold it. But now, its gotten so bad that I would have to wait up, dump poo out of her bed and wash the bed. It got so bad that eventually the smell wouldnt come out in the wash so I threw the bed away. So sadly, now shehas nothing because I absolutely refuse to buy another for her to mess up again until she is trained. She runs around the yard all day from 7 AM TO 7 PM and two minutes after she's back in her kennel, she eliminates again. Its quite disgusting. This isn't my first pet and I really thought it was nature that dogs wouldnt poo where they sleep. I take her for runs and I just can't understand why she doesn't use it outside...Please HELP!!!!!
The dog came from a couple who mates their dogs, and their dogs were rather old. But it was free,..So I took it anyway. Is it possible for dogs to have mental problems or is this just because she's a puppy. She doesn't listen to anything. I forgot to mention that the dog thinks she has a golden ass, because IF she does use the bathroom outside, it will be on the patio furniture. I guess she likes the softness, but its quite annoying. I have to scrub patio furniture everyday. I dont wanna give her up so please help me train this dog.
She is wanting your attention, even if it is negative attention from you getting upset at her for messing up her crate. She is outside from 7-7, that's 12 hours. She gets lonely and when you're with her, she gets a response from you by doing those things.
How large is her crate? Yorki-Poos are very small. A crate only needs to be large enough for her to lay down and turn around. It may be too large for her.
Maybe try training at PetSmart or somewhere like that. Training is something that requires a lot of patience as well as dedication. If she is not minding you in any way, including coming to you when you call her, you need an intervention. Her age is critical for proper training.
Try the clicker method and use treats. If she's outside until 7pm, it's not much longer until bedtime so make every minute count!
Maybe someone else can offer more. Hope this helps!
Best of luck!

Ihave the same problem with my toy yorkie, she is 12 weeks old and we decided to start crate training her, when i come home for lunch I take her outside to poop and she does well, but in the evening when i get home she has pooped in her crate. i bought a wire crate for toy yorkies, could the crate be too big for her? when I let her run around the apartment she never uses the restroom on any of the carpet, she uses it on her pad. i am at wits end, please help.
