A few years ago someone posted a long list of all the things that can go wrong when breeding a litter. Everything from losing the dam and puppies, stuck puppies, accidents, etc. Does this ring a bell with anyone? If someone has it, please post it so I can save it. Thanks.
Thank you, this is very good. I will save this but it's not what I was looking for. It's a long "list" of the realities of things that can go wrong when breeding and was put together for those considering breeding a litter in hopes they would reconsider. I know it came from this forum because I had saved it under "terrific pets breeding horror stories". In a hard drive crash, I've lost it.
I have a good one for you, and excuse the spelling, i am horrible at it.
A girl that bathed for use for a while had a intact pit(female)and intact rottie(male). He Husband let the dogs out to potty together, and bam pregnant. No x-ray, nothing, and pups are born. Several weeks after birth the bitch is not feeling well, thinking it is nothing, they ignore it. As her temp goes off the charts they take her to the vet. She had one more pup left in her, it died and cause pyrometria, bitch dies. Now they are left with pups to hand feed. Not having a clue 3 out of the 5 die of sugar shock.
