READ HERE IF YOU WANT A FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE OF GOV RUN HEALTHCARE: Yes our system is in need of an overhaul. Medical care is way over priced starting with the insurance companies on BOTH the health care providers AND the patients. Please consider this.. My husband is Canadian and lived there for 26 years, myself one. My neighbor is from the Ukraine. Both, including myself, have witnessed first hand the extreme cost of governmental run health care. Firstly by the unbelievably slow maze you must trudge through to have your symptoms followed up upon. If you have cancer symptoms, you will wait months to not only to see a specialist (which are actually really great once you do) but by the time you can receive any actual treatment, your cancer has now had the chance to advance too far. I've SEEN it happen THREE times too many and it makes me SICK (no pun intended). My neighbor from the Ukraine was a nurse in the operating room there and she can't believe how blind we are. Besides the health blows, there is the financial cost which always starts out "small" but grows bigger year after year as availability gets smaller.I could go on and on and on about the way people also abuse and ruin the system for the others who really need it, making the cost skyrocket and providers strained (anyone old enough to remember how wonderful welfare used to be when it was first set up for those who really needed it....now look at it).
The truth is we can't afford this system the way it is written for our health or our pocketbooks. If you make big money a year or make NOTHING a week for whatever reason, the government WILL take away more from you in the form of higher costs for anything you buy with whatever money you have AND don't think you will run into any hospital with an emergency or sick child and get what you already get here now for free. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE blog with first handers who actually were ill and needed help!!!!
