(D) Forum wont allow the 'D' to be in the name due to language filter, lol. *ick's Sporting Good's has decided not to sell Michael Vick jerseys. People who care about dogs are asking people to call (D)*ick's and thank them and tell them how much we appreciate their support.
The corporate office number is 1-866-677-4771. When you get the recording press 0 to talk to a real person. They are keeping a total of the people who call. Please share this with your dog-loving friends!
Maybe it's just me, but people are being rediculous about this! There are men that get out of jail EVERY DAY who have murdered and raped men, women and children and is that plastered all over the news? Do we go to their houses or their jobs and protest them living their lives??!! Michael Vick committed a horrible act, but HE PAID HIS TIME!!! Leave the poor guy alone. Now, if he does it again, out with him and boycott all you want. Whatever happened to second chances in this country? There is such a double standard. Yes, our animals are our family and to some, they are our children. But like i said, what about all those murderers who get out on parole everyday? I think we need to be decent human beings and let him live his life...WITHOUT boycotting his merchandise.
Well, I called earlier today to let them know that I support their decision.
As for all these other murderers and rapists that you claim are getting out of prison every day...it may not necessarily be made public (though often, it is-check out your local newspaper) but I sure don't see any neighborhoods welcoming them with open arms. In fact, I usually see the opposite...people protesting, NOT wanting a felon (especially someone who did harm to children) living in their area. They value the safety of their children and their families, as they should, over some ex-convicts "rights".
And yes, even an ex-convict has a right to work, and SHOULD work. But that doesn't mean that they get to do whatever they want. (For example, a job making a million+ $$$ where people look up to them as role models)
No, I don't think people are blowing this out of proportion. The idiot shouldn't have been let back into the NFL. What a waste of oxygen. I will be placing my call, as well as getting my daughter's new basketball shoes from there as well to show support.
I don't think we are over reacting either. Most people who get out of jail are not role models. Kids look up to sports figures, stars, etc. I do boycott alot of stuff that the stupid stars do also. Maybe your childern can be allowed to look up to a someone who killed dogs, but not mine. I don't think he should ever be allowed to play NFL again. I don't think he should be paid millions of dollars like nothing ever happen.
I don't have children, thanks. And did I say we should let our kids have role models like that?? If you are a good parent, then you are involved in their lives and know who they are looking up to and when it's not acceptable, direct them in a different way. I NEVER said he was an outstanding person who should keep getting paid millions of dollars a year. I'm saying give it a rest and just leave it be. There is NO amount of boycotting that will keep him from getting all the money he wants. He knows people hate him..obviously. I just think this world is full of hypocrits and people like that should have a second chance at a decent life. It's common human decency..but obviously that is a decline in this poor country.
I am a parent of 2. I know who my kids look up to. However, they see these people on the news, newspapers, magazines, etc. They begin to think it is ok to act a certain way and things will be ok. No matter how great the parenting. The absolute greatest thing about this "poor" country is everyone is entitled to an opinion. Yes, the sad thing is Mr. Vic will continue to get millions from idiots that continue to worship him. (Not because he has a great education and is helping people in his everyday life.....but because he throws a football really well)....that is the bad side to this "poor" country...The emphasis is on athletics not education and self worth.
He is getting more than what he deserves, and is getting exactly what he deserves having his items removed from this store's shelf! Wish more store's would make a statement like this.
Yes, criminals get released every dayand those neighborhood's boycott to have them out of thier towns. The only reason we dont see more of it, is that they are not in the public eye. Just becuase Vick is famous, doesnt mean he should be excused for his actions.
