I recently posted a question on cataracts, however, now i have figured out that the problem is not cataracts after all. My boston pup seems to have a cloudy spot over the peripheral cornea that is not expanding however its not going away. Its also in one eye only. Since her eyes protrude, and she plays very rough with my frenchie, im convinced that she must have injured her eye and this is the result.
I bought natural antioxidant eye drops for her, but am wondering if anyone has any experience with eye injuries. It doesnt bother her at all! I just want to see if there anything i can do to help heal the eye and to prevent further injuries from occuring.
When white area appear on the eye it is from inflammation, usually from where they were bumped or poked (common in your breed, and mine) You will need to get some neopolydex from the vet to put in it to reduce swelling and the white area will disappear. However it is best if the vet examines to be sure of the exact entent of the injury as to if it is on the surface, a bit deeper and if it damaged the retina, etc.
