Second, you can't just decide "to keep him" because you found him. Well technically I guess you could, but it wouldn't be right. This is probably someones pet and who knows the situation which led to you finding him. He looks healthy and well taken care of...
Take him and have him scanned for a chip at a vet. Put up "found dog" signs in the surrounding areas and at the vets office/groomers then if no one contacts you to offer a description and claim him, you can call him your own.
"Try to get beside yourself, This tearing at your insides, If you end up on the wrong side Always standing so strong. Sharpen up your teeth Your dreams are more than worth defending"
I have to agree, this dog appears to be well cared for.
Take him to the vet to be scanned as suggested. You can also place a Lost & Found ad in your local newspaper. You really need to try and find the owner. If you are unsuccessful after about a week or so, then I would say you could call him yours.
Best of luck and he sure is a pretty thing!
Friends will step in when the rest of the world steps out.
Yes, someone could be really missing there puppy. I would do everything I could to locate the owners. I would you feel if you dog got out, and someone just decided to keep it. I found a puppy the other day also, and luckily it had a chip. I found the owner, and they were so happy. He was a very cute puppy, I would have loved to keep him.
I really love that this site now provides a history of posts with a single click.
I am right with ya! I knew that user name sounded so familiar. I just had to use that single click, and viola, there were the previous posts of breeding the pomeranian and basset hound. By the age of that pup, it seems like perfect timing.
Animals, what animals? My children just have alot of hair!
