My dogs are out of flea and tick treatments as of last month. So we need somthing to put on them this month. We have no reason to take them to the vet but we will in a few months (the vet is far, its takes lots of planning and Dh has to be late for work, etc).
We use Front line but we are out. What kind do you use? where do you get it and how can I get some (just for the next couple of months until they go back to the vet). I was going to ask the vet tech on here but maybe this will answer my question.
I prefer all natural stuff, but you can purchase bio-spot from your local pet store. Fly sprays for horses works well also, just avoid the eyes. Everything I do is natural, and it usually means several applications a day. But I don't have fleas or ticks. Good luck
I also use Frontline Plus as well. That is the only product that really works for my animals. Everyone has their own opinions on what to use.
If you don't wan't to use a topical treatment, you can also try Capstar.
You do not have to get a prescription from a vet for Frontline or Capstar. You can just order it online. It is also cheaper to buy it that way. Try to go to Jeffers website, they have some good prices.

Animals, what animals? My children just have alot of hair!
Capstar is not a once a month pill...it is only a short acting pill used for infestations. Capstar only stays in the system for 24 hours and you must give another pill if the infestation is not cleared up. It is not intended for a permanent med.
I think you are thinking of Comfortis...that one is a once a month pill for fleas. You must have a prescription to get it or purchase from your vet. My vet does not carry it.
We use Advantage. Very good product. Though Frontline Plus always worked well too. You can cut cost by buying it for the extra large dog in a multi pack and draw out the dose needed for each individual dog with a syringe and applying it. Can supply you with the dosage in ml's needed for each weight range, ot ir is available in the product info on most sites.
