Okay, so we got our beautiful Maggie from the shelter 11 days ago and are very happy to have her, BUT she's dribbling little blood spots every once in a while on our carpet. She is DEFINITELY a field/sporting/retrieving nut, and hard to keep her down and quiet, but we've been avoiding playing with her to try to let her finish healing. She's mostly black lab with probably springer spaniel in the mix.
She loves to play, and we love to LET her play, but how long is this dribbling goind to keep going?! I would DEFFINITELY not call this "hemorrhaging" as it's very light, and it definitely hasn't slowed her DESIRE to play and run. So.... I can't just keep taking her in and racking up vet bills for minor issues, but this is frustrating. And I just cleaned my carpets, too! LOL
I was just thinking to get her a pair of doggie panties to wear until it stops, but I can just picture myself trying to wrestle those on her. Any other BETTER advice?
I agree, she has something going on out of the ordinary for a spayed dog. Call the vet and find a way to take her in if they think it is necessary.Maybe find the vet that spayed her and they can see her for free.Any issues related to a surgery shouldn't have a charge, at least not at my vet.Good Luck.
Get a second vet opinion. Just to be sure they got all the tissue.
Are you sure the spotting is not coming from the sutures? I know it can be difficult but have you kept her relatively crated and calm since the spay? Running and jumping could definitely cause the site stress.
