My dog Cooper is a Coton...from what I have been told. I was just curious if there was a way to find out for sure...if there was some type of blood test or something...it would be nice to know if he was fullblooded and if there was a way to get papers for him...I would like to breed him someday.
Unless he is from registered parents there is no way to get him registered with a reputable kennel club. In Canada it is illegal to even say he is purebred in order to stud him out. Do him a favor an neuter him, save him from several cancers!
A coton is a rare breed, and often very expensive. they usually have papers. If the breeder didn't provide papers for him when you purchase him, there is not a reputable way. If you want to be a lier and cheat, yes you can find a way. As far as a way to find out if he is purebred, there is a DNA test, but it is always acturate, and since coton's are a rare breed, it is likey that they do not have the marker for the breed yet.
Spay him and save him a lot of health problems as well as cancer. Also, a breeding dog will usually Mark all over your house, are you ready to deal with a dog who pee's everywhere?
