I just have to vent about this one. I had a lady email today to ask about a pup. Her 3 year old daughter wants one for Christmas. She stated that since she was afraid of dogs, she would like a loving pup that could grow with them both. #1 A pup for Christmas for a 3 year old not a good ideal. #2 If the mother is afraid of dogs, why buy one in the first place, to only get rid of it when it doesn't work out. My suggestion was to go to the local shelter and spend time with a puppy to make sure it will work for their family, before committing to a puppy. This is the time of year that everyone wants a pup for nothing so they can be the hero to their child at my expense,or they get a dog without thinking it through.Wow... venting feels good.LOL
I got a good one for you, I have one pup left from my latest litter. I had a lady call me saying she has a 7yr old who wants a dog. They wanted a nice one because he has been nipped in the face a couple times. Later i found out, he likes to be in there face and playing all the time. Gee, wonder why he has been nipped.
I told her now no, and to rethink a puppy until her son learns to respect the dog. I hate stupid people.
