I just got a female australian shepherd today and they have been calling her "Aussie", but I just don't think the name fits...let me know if you have any suggestions! She is a blue merle australian shepherd with blue marbled eyes and a lot of white. I am kinda partial to native american names that are easy to pronounce and remember, but will take any suggestions! Gonna try to put her picture as my picture. lmk!
Congrats on your new girl, she is adorable! I'm a little partial to Aussies as well Trying to get the perfect name is just so hard, but very rewarding. Here are a few off the top of my head that I like.
Annie Oakley-Annie for short, Bella, Cheyenne, Dixie, Doli- Native American for bluebird, Heidi, Koda- Friend in Sioux, Misty Blue, or Willow.
Good luck! Please let us know what you decide on.
Animals, what animals? My children just have alot of hair!
Dakota, as in North or South: home of the Lakota and Oglala who called Aussies the "Ghost Eyed dog."
I have 2 Aussies: Bronx (boy black tri), after the Disney Gargoyle's guard dog, and Valkyrie (blue merle girl), after the women in Norse mythology who chose and cared for the fallen warriors who went to Valhalla.

If people had emotions as pure as animals, our hearts would have to tripple in size.
I didn't know that is what they referred to them as. That is pretty cool! We are in the South Dakota area and there are a ton of dogs named Koda, Dakota, Lakota, and all variations....I had a female named Kody...would like to steer clear of that...thought about Mikah, not sure though...keep them coming please!!! Thank you
