We adopted a boxer mix she is 3 months old and is great about going potty outside in a designated area or when we are not home or at night she is in a hall way with baby gates and puppy pads. She goes on the pads. HOwever when we are home and playing she will occasionally pee and poop on the floor. We try to take her out every hour to hour and half but she still has accidents. I have shampooed the carpet many times to get rid of the scent. SHe even does it after she has went outside she'll come in and pee again. Its frustrating because she can be so good at times. ANy suggestions??
At 3 months old, she is still learning. She doesn't really understand that inside is a bad place to go since she uses the wee wee pads inside. If you want put a weewee pad in the spot. Otherwise just watch her, she will start to sniff around. I watch my almost 4 month old like a hawk, everytime she goes to the stairs, we go outside. It works well for her. A month ago she was potting everywhere and driving me crazy. In my mind, it is part of puppyhood, and they start to get it as they get older. My mini aussies are usually house trained by 6-7 months. At night they are in doggie condo crates with a potty area. They use it, and then I find they grow out of it.
Maybe someone else can give you a better idea, but I believe in watching every move they make, and take out as soon as they start to sniff.
