ok i have a female half pug half chihuahua called a "chug" she is in her 2nd heat should i wait one more to breed her i have a male chug who wants to breed and she is physically fit.. and ready she just started bleeding and she is swollen when should i take her to the stud???
I am leaving this one alone. go visit a shelter and see how many cute puppies and dogs are put to sleep everyday. Are you ready for one of those to be yours? Are you willing to lose your female during whelping becuase she can not pass the puppies and dies? What about if a puppy gets stuck, do you have an emergancy vet, and $1000 plus(depending on where you live) for a c-section. Does you state have a puppy lemon law making yor responsible for any vet bills on a puppy that you sell that has a genetic defect?
Ask you self all of those questions, and if you still say yes I want to breed, then read and research. If you don't even know when to breed your female, you are no way ready to start. Alot of time and energy needs to go into breeding, and if it is not done right, it can hurt your wallet and your heart.
wow i was looking for answers not a friggen lecture i am well aware of all the possibilities yes i have an awesome vet. that she goes to on a reg. basis, yes i am ready financially and prepared to take on any and ALL responsibilities, YES i have thought out ALL the misshapes i may encounter so before you go running your mouth about something you HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT, YOU DONT NO ME, HEY MAYBE YOU NEED TO GET LAID IS THAT IT!!! SURE SOUNDS LIKE IT!!!! SOME HELP YOU ARE AND I THOUGHT THIS WAS A COOL SIGHT TO BE AT FOR MY DOG...SCREW YOU AND THIS PLACE
WOW, Chug you need to read the forum rules before saying such nasty words to a well respected senior member on this forum, or anyone else! You need to treat others with respect on here, that is one of the rules. She was just asking if you have what it takes to be a good reputable breeder. And frankly, you do no seem fit that bill! If you really knew what you were doing, you would know not to breed your dogs until they are at least 2 years of age, and do all the necessary testing. Chis and Pugs can have numerous health problems.
Illusionminis is like most everyone else on here that do not like to see people breed their mixed breed dogs just to make a buck, or are curious to see what their puppies will look like. There are enough mixed/mutts in shelters being euthanized every day. Why in the world would you want to add to that? You opened your own can of worms here, so don't be suprised if alot more people say things that you do not want to hear.
Animals, what animals? My children just have alot of hair!
I am sorry, but as an ADULT, getting LAID doesn't affect my mood. There are way more important things in life.
I suggest you grow up and learn to hear what you don't want to hear, you will alot in this ride we all call life.
If you don't even know when you breed your mutt, then you should not be breeding plain and simple. It is the basics to breeding a dog. It isn't easy, and there is alot of heart ache that can come with it. The whole point to breeding is to improve a BREED, not continue to produce more mutts with unknown health problems just so you can pay a few bills. I am sure you are not giving them away.
You can take your attitude somewhere else, becuase frankly it is unwanted here. If you ask a question, then be ready for the anwser you will get. I didn't say anything nasty or demeaning to you, I just spell out what could happen and why it is dangerous.
So bugger off, and find you friends to go play with.
