Although the flea season isn't quite here yet, we are experiencing some mosquito problems. I live in South Texas and have found that Frontline products no longer work for my pugs. It seems the Fleas have become immune to the ingredients. I was looking online and saw a product new to me: TriForce made by Seargents and according to the box it is effective treatment for the prevention of Fleas, Ticks and repels mosquitoes. Has anyone tried it? Its about $20 less than the K9 Advantix.
I have tried Comfortis and am very pleased with the way it works however with 4 dogs it gets quite pricey.
I am not sure if this will help as I am not in a high mosquito area. I have always used all natural products. I always worry about the amount of chemicals we use on our pets. Esp. when the package says how dangerous it is for us to come into contact with.
I use a monthly spot on called natural defense. I then use all natural horse fly sprays (merigold is one of my favorites). I spray them every time they go outside. I have had no problems with fleas, mosquitos, ticks etc. I do have some issues with large swarms of gnats, but that is it.
you can take the info for what it is worth. I do not know how well these methods work when dealing with sand fleas, and high amounts of mosquitos. good luck
