I have 3 dogs, two toy poodles, and a min-pin. They are ages 6,2 and 10. They poop all over the house, whenever and wherever they feel like it. They will also poop outside, but whenever they feel it, they just "go." I am really tired of this, and am considering finding other homes for them. I really love them, but I can't take it anymore. Any advice?
P.S. I rarely, if ever, catch them "in the act", as they are very sneaky about it. Therefore, I do not punish them, since I don't feel that they understand what the punishment is for. Am I nuts?
Frankly I wouldn't give them the run of the house, end of story. I would only allow them to run around when I could watch them. Otherwise I would use an x-pen, or close off my kitchen to them. something easy to clean.
I wouldn't give them up I would simply train them to behave the way I want them to. If the want to poo everywhere, then don't give them that option.
I agree with Illusion, the dogs would not have run of the house. Time to start re-training. How many years have you had these dogs? Have they always done this or did one start and the other 2 followed suit?
They would be crate trained, confined to one 'safe' area of the house while being housebroke from scratch, or ex-pen etc.
This can be done to retrain them (or train them if this has been an ongoing issue) but with 3 of them to train at once, it will take alot of patience on your part.
