I have a 10 month old kitten who just gave birth to 4 kittens ( now before anyone goes nuts on me i always get my pets fixed she just got out before i could get her fixed ) she had babies 3 days ago and now she is acting so crazy. we have 3 cats 3 dogs and 2 birds. i'm worried about what they will do with kittens. i have mom and kittens locked in bathroom when i sleep or am busy. I keep then in a box and move them around the house with me so that when she wanted to leave them i know they are safe from the other monsters in the house lol. she will put paws under the bathroom door and begs to be let out. tho now she is tring to takekittens out of the box and move them. she seems upset . what am i doing wrong ??? help please
cats don't like doors as they cant come and go as they want to, a bathroom us a cold place putting her paw under the door means she wants out. moving her kittens means she does not like where they are and wants to move them to a place she thinks is safe. my female wants her kittens born in my room then a couple days later we move them to an unused bedroom with an animal heating pad to help keep them warm till they are older about 3/4 weeks then we put them in the cats room and everyone is allowed to come and go freely. so far so good here.
The stray i took in gave birth to a litter of 6 boys 3 weeks ago i have a household of humans and 6 other big cats. My other female cat actualy helped with the birth and my male cat baby sits lol the dogs may be a problem just watch them when they are around the kittens or momma will atack them. Find a place under a bed or in a closet for mom and babies or purchase a crate large enough for her the babies and litter box and food and water dishes to keep her safe. but my best advice is just let her alone and watch the dogs she will handle the babies.
