I don't know if I ever mentioned the cat who has been living under our house since the beginning of winter but it lookslike he may have a home to callhis own now !! I have been feeding this poor cat since the beginning of December when I first noticed him livingunder our house. Then my husband had a fit that I was feeding him because it was attracting even more cats to our homeand this cat kept getting into fights with him. Sosince the nicer weather I have been feeding himless and less hoping he would go back to where he came from. No such luck. Last Friday night the black cat who is the one who has been coming here and picking fights with him came around again and they got into it.My son witnessed it and told me I needed to take him to work with me the next day cuz he was beat up bad. After my son chased the black cat outta here, I grabbed the kitty and put him in a carrier and he spent the night in that in my laundry room.Saturday I took him to work and tested him for aids/leuk and kept my fingers crossed that he would turn out to be nagative cuz he is such a sweetiepie and I did not want to have to euthanize him if he was positive. Well he came up negative soa co worker told me that someone else I used to work with when I was there during the week was looking for an outdoor cat for her new home in NY. So I txted her right away and she said she would check him out today when she was at work.
So Monday he was neutered and vaccinated, his wounds patched up and puton antibiotics. I spoke with her today and she said as long as her dad is keeping the 2 cats she had when she was living here, she would take him. She is going to let me know before Friday.
Keep your fingers crossed that she can take him because I really dont know what else I am going to do. I mean I guess it's fine if he comes back here since he considers this home, but he will never be allowed in my house, and I hate the idea that if he comes back here, he is going to continually get beat up by this other cat. It sickens and saddens me both to hear them screaming and yowling at night when they fight. I was thinking that maybe now that he is neutered the fighting will lessen or not happen at all anymore but I feel so sorry for him getting beat up all the time I REALLY don't want to even bring him back to find out. It is sooo hard tofind a home for an adult cat. I still care for the momma cat. I wish I could find a home for her also. I hate her being outdoors 24/7 even though she is so adverse tobeing in my housenow that the weather is nice again. She deserves much better than this in my opinion. Thankfully she seems to get along, or at least ignore, all the other cats around us. She does get along with this black cat Troublemaker lol.
