Hello I have a snoodle puppy that is a mini poodle and a mini schnauzer mixed. She pooped yesterday but only a little came out and she was running around rubbing her bottom on the floor. I seen that she had a little of her poop stuck onto her hair so I got that off but I noticed that her poop was a little yellowish color. Now this morning she was trying to go poop but couldn't. She was straining to go for about 3 minutes. I do have a cat also. I've read that some puppy's can eat some cats poop that is in there litter but I haven't heard about any solutions for this either. Do anyone have any suggestions!!
The vet is a good idea. Since it is Sunday, I would try a warm wash cloth and rub the area to stimulate the pup to go. This is what the mom did when they were young. If that doesn't work, try a sterilized thermometer in the rectum for a minute. That is used on human infants to stimulate a stool.
You can try a different puppy food, as that sometimes creates loose stools, and I would IMMEDIATELY remove the cat litter pan. Dogs should not have access to cat litter or feces and it can create all sorts of health issues, as well as coprophagia. Cats can jump, so even putting a litter pan higher will help. It may be a wise investment to have an automated litter pan, as in the long run, it will cost less than the potential vet bills you may incur as a result of coprophagia.
He is your friend, partner, defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devot
We used to have a Maltese and his butt would sorta inflame and we would have to take him to the vet and he'd do something (i can't remember) but part of the problem was that he was never neutered. But i still think u should see a vet. Maybe he ate the wrong food.
