Does any one have any suggestions for VERY durable, basically indestructible toys for large dogs? My dogs tear up everything we give them, even the hard plastic toys that say indestructible on them! Any suggestions?
Kongs are the only thing I have found that lasts the longest! Not that it will last forever. My pit bull picks his toys apart piece by piece. My Bordeaux tend to just chew so there toys will last as long as my pit does not get a hold of them. I don't know what breed you have but some dogs you just have to keep buying them new toys!
There are a couple that I know of, google karma charms, they sell them. The Goughnuts, green for smaller chewers and black for giant chewers, and the Knotties stuffed toys. The lady who runs the site will not sell anything until she has had it tested by some very strong chewers.
I had a dog that loved tires. Not toy tires (destroyed immediately) but real tires. They eventually get worn out too-- when wires are poking through, they have to go, of course. But they tend to last a good while.
Thank you everyone. We have several bullmastiffs and english bulldogs. All of them are big chewers and several of them will just take a new toy and hold it with their paws while they pull it apart piece by piece. We have a huge back yard for them but I know they get bored so I try and try to keep plenty of toys for them but it gets expensive when they have them for 20 minutes and one of them have already torn them apart. Someone else told me tires too - I am going to try that today. I think if we had them in the back yard and didn't want them to touch them then they would chew on them BUT if we put them there for them to play with I think they might ignore them. lol. How do you make tires more appealing so they want to play with them? Anyway - thanks, I'm going to check out that web site too!
