This is new, our dogs used to be fine with strangers they would bark sniff and check people out then leave them alone. A couple of months ago when Violet had just had the pups my SIL came over and Violet bit the back of her leg , I chalked it up to being protective, then a week ago our neighbour came in the back yard and they bit his butt , this time the three of them ganged up on him , only one bit but they were going nuts barking and carrying on. Kinda like a pack of wild dogs. Now I am terrified to have anyone over, they are fine with family and a few friends but anyone realitvely new or hasnt been around in a while they seem very aggressive. Any suggestions would be helpfull.
I have seen that happen in bitchs who have had puppies. They can continue that agression even after the pups are gone. The others are stressed out, and following her lead. They all probably don't understand her aggression.
has the bitch been spayed yet? She is probably still hormonal. Honestly I have seen it and lived it. They dog was happy and love people. Once she had her pups, she because extremly protective, and would bite strangers. You may have to just crate them or have a seperate room for them when people are around.
As much as we hate, it can be a downside to breeding. I would have her checked by a vet just in case she doesn't have anything medical going one. I would just do a simple blood panel and thats it. If nothing medical is found, then assume it is a personality change due to hormones or breeding.
